Pink Turns Blue is an influential post punk band from Berlin, Germany.

After their worldwide success with their album ‘Tainted’ and their often-sold-out club concerts in America and Europe, the post-punk legends from Berlin present a new studio album. The new album and the tour are titled “BLACK SWAN”, the term for an unexpected event, which in retrospect is justified as if one could have prepared for it.

With their last album and accompanying tour, Mic Jogwer (vocals, guitar), Luca Sammuri (bass) and Paul Richter (drums) have cleared pretty much everything you could wish for as a band. Album of the Year at Byte FM, best of 2021 at Post Punk Com, singles at number 1 in the German Alternative Charts as well as the Indie Disco Top 40, excellent reviews in the worldwide music press and very well attended, if not sold-out club concerts from Los Angeles to Yerevan.

Obsidian is a Gothic/ Post-Punk band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. Obsidian was originally formed as a creative outlet for the various members to deal with their traumatic experiences and existential epiphanies. The group was originally formed in 2018. The band has evolved into the current four-piece version consisting of Missy Mortis (Guitars, Vocals, Primary songwriter), Kathy D (Synths and Keyboards), Ryan Rivas (Bass Guitars), and Danny Drums (Drums and Percussion). The group’s style has been described as “post-punk,” “goth,” and “death rock” and combines a fierce love of rock music with darker electronic and esoteric elements. Obsidian currently has 3 EP releases: 2018’s four-track EP “A Swamp,” which was followed by the 2019 EP “Living Dead,” and 2020’s “Vultures.” Finally released in 2024 was the band’s first full-length album, “19 Dead,” on Bat-Cave Productions – Available on all major streaming platforms. Formed in 2006, Automelodi is a constantly evolving project based around the solo work of songwriter/producer Xavier Paradis. With a career that spans over two decades, Paradis is a well-established figure in Montreal’s dense electronic music culture, releasing over time with various projects, performance line-ups, or under different monikers such as Arnaud Lazlaud. He also collaborates with artists like Liz Wendelbo (of Xeno & Oaklander) as the duo Liz and László, as well as Latvian Producer Dmitry Distant.

Automelodi’s music embraces and re-contextualizes a spectrum of influences that include the lesser-known European synthpop and post-punk of the latter Twentieth Century, combined with literary stylizations reminiscent of Gallic songwriters such as Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Fontaine—with nearly all vocals delivered in French. Following the self-released first EP, an eponymous album was released in 2010 by the now defunct Brooklyn label Wierd Records. The second LP, “Surlendemains acides”, was released in digital format in 2013. A third LP, “Mirages au futur verre-brisé,” was released in 2019 on Austin’s Holodeck Records. The release was followed that same year by an extensive tour of Europe. Automelodi resumed touring in 2023, with several dates across the USA, and is currently working on a collection of new songs, including some singles to be released in 2024/2025.

In parallel to his work as Automelodi, Paradis has also been very active over the past two decades as a music producer, focusing primarily on mixing and remixing for other projects and artists such as Bootblacks, Silent EM, The Harrow, and Laura Krieg.

Night Foundation is the instrumental solo project of multimedia artist Richard Vergez. It explores existential soundscapes, utilizing analogue hardware, including vintage synthesizers, found percussion, tape effects, and manipulated wind instruments. There is a deep inspiration from Krautrock, film music, early industrial and ambient music, and the dark, rhythmic pulse of post-punk. His music has seen physical release on labels spanning the UK, Germany, Lithuania, and the US. A most recent vinyl release on his label, Noir Age, features underground legend Little Annie.

Violent Vickie is a Dark SynthRiot artist and DJ, originally from Los Angeles and now based in West Palm Beach, FL. Vickie has toured the US, Europe, Mexico and Canada and played Occupy Oakland, Insted Fest, Shoutback Fest, Gay Prides & Ladyfests.

Violent Vickie’s music has been released by Crunch Pod (LA), Emerald & Doreen Recordings (Berlin), Riot Grrrl Berlin, and LoveCraft Bar (PDX). Her track “The Wolf“ was featured in a National Organization for Women film. She was interviewed for the documentary “GRRRL”, part of the museum exhibit “Alien She”. Her LP “Monster Alley” was voted best album by KALX and her tracks have been remixed by 30+ artists.

Vickie’s sophomore LP Division was released in September 2020 on Crunch Pod, a remix album for her song “Under the Gun” was released in February 2021 on Emerald & Doreen Recordings, and she released Division Remixes LP in 2022 featuring remixes by Fragrance, Kontravoid, Dimension 23, and Maduro.

Austin is known as the music capital of the world — and Urban Heat is one of its greatest exports. The band, formed only five years ago as the brainchild of singer/multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Horstmann, has quickly become known for their fiery live shows and infectious darkwave anthems that harken back to the ‘80s with a modern sensibility. Powered by the magnetic Horstmann’s melodic baritone vocals & the pummeling rhythm section of Kevin Naquin and Paxel Foley, UH has won over fans show by show.

Appearances at major California festivals like Cruel World and Darker Waves saw Urban Heat play to their biggest audiences, with their set pointed as one of the best of the day. At home, Urban Heat has long been the talk of SXSW & graced the stage of the Austin City Limits Festival.

SUMMORE is a synth-pop/darkwave duo from central Ohio. Julie (vocals / lyrics) and Justin (synth / production) weave their hearts into a sound that is brooding and hypnotic. Their brighter sounds are often laced with hidden meanings and other interpretations just beneath the surface. Their darkest and most bleak tracks have trickles of optimism that create a balance that opens them to a state of meditation, self-reflection, and healing.

In September 2022, after playing to a packed house at an intimate venue in Columbus, they stopped for a late night bite. As they sat parked, a drunk driver lost control, became airborne, and hit them like a missile. The impact blasted the car from one side of the parking lot to the other within a second. In an instant, their lives were changed but one stayed the same: their dedication and love for creating music.

They have not stopped. In spite of everything, they found enough strength through their recovery to chronicle their harrowing experience on their second LP, New Pain. Despite their long-term physical and emotional injuries, they continue to persevere in their musical journey.

We’ve only just begun.

Vision Video is a post-punk goth rock band from Athens, Georgia that injects modern malaise into classic sounds of the late 70’s and 80’s. The band pays homage to classics like the Chameleons and The Cure, while also bringing a refreshing modern element to the genre.

Thematically their music explores the effects of trauma on the human psyche and finding stability and agency in an insane world. Having served in Afghanistan with the army and as a firefighter in the civilian world, lead singer and guitarist Dusty Gannon is no stranger to the darker proclivities of humanity and death itself. “I wanted to write music that helped people remember that it’s okay to not be okay, but that also doesn’t shy away from taking a stern look at the darker aspects of our flawed human existence.” says Gannon.

The band’s first two records were met with much critical praise, such as that from Pitchfork stating they created a “dreamy tune tailor-made for the sort of wallflower who sprints to the dancefloor the instant the DJ drops “Age of Consent” or “Primary” at Goth Night”. Their debut LP “Inked in Red” and second LP “Haunted Hours”, were recorded and mixed by Tom Ashton of The March Violets at his Sub Von Studios in Athens, Georgia.

Vision Video recorded their next LP “Modern Horror” at Maze Studios in Atlanta headed by Grammy award-winning producer Ben Allen.

DJ / Drummer from Miami Florida, DJ Dino has been a staple in the South Florida music scene, and a proponent of all wave and dark electronic music since the mid 80s and into the more recent revival scene. Dino is behind the long-time running show SYNTHOLOGY 101 Radio, and has taken up residency at Miami’s dark underground party “Malicia Goth Nights”, making it one of the hottest monthly events in the South Florida Goth Scene. Here is where he serves his latest discoveries and the most cutting edge in goth, minimal synth, upperwave, post punk revival, darkwave, EBM, italo, and resurrected obscure coffin classics for the baby bats and darks alike. As a side note, Dino (formerly of Formula Redux) is the current drummer for Nutrix Recordings and Mannequin Records recording artist “Life In Sodom”, who were a big part of the golden age of Goth music in the 1990s, and have been actively releasing music since 1991.

Marked by its androgynous visual identity, eerie themes, and melancholic synth pop, Drab Majesty is a project led by Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Andrew Clinco, who records under the alter ego Deb DeMure. Mixing the sonic aesthetic of early 4AD artists with elements of goth and new wave, Clinco issued a scattering of indie releases before signing with DAIS Records. After 2015’s Careless, he was joined by collaborator Alex Nicolaou (aka Mona D) on subsequent releases including 2017’s mass suicide-themed concept album The Demonstration and 2019’s dense, synth-driven Modern Mirror. Drab Majesty returned in 2023 with the four-song mini-album An Object in Motion which featured a collaboration with Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell.

ULTRA SUNN is a contemporary EBM/Coldwave/New Beat band from Brussels, Belgium, formed in late 2019 by frontman and multi-instrumentalist Sam Huge and keyboardist/producer Gaelle Souflet. In 2023, they were joined on stage by keyboardist and percussionist Alexis Andrigo.

ULTRA SUNN expresses a desire for modernity through its themes, fresh approach to sounds and collaborations (Kontravoid, Kris Baha, Curses, Sarin) while being the heirs of the famous Sound Of Belgium and classical EBM. ULTRA SUNN regularly played alongside Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, DAF or A Split Second.

In 2020 with the release of their hit “Keep Your Eyes Peeled,” the duo gained widespread recognition, performing concerts all around the world, from Brussels to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Calgary, Sao Paulo, Mexico, Bogota, Berlin, London, and many more.

The band already released 3 EPs called ‘Night is Mine’, ‘Body Electric’ and ‘Kill Your Idols’, all borrowing from their activities in classical arts and fashion shows, their New Beat and EBM inspirations and their desire to create dancing and luminous hymns about self improvement, gender equality, fight against anxiety. Always with an inclusive, powerful and positive spirit.

In 2023, ULTRA SUNN signed a worldwide, multi-album deal with Canadian-based label Artoffact Records then embarked on a tour in Latin America, (Mexico, Medellin, Bogota, Lima, Santiago, and Sao Paulo).

The duo annonces their first full LP for April 2024 as well as two USA tours for Spring and Fall 2024. The first tour will include the Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas then Los Angeles, the band will also play up the west coast to end in Vancouver, Canada. The second tour will start from New York, go down the east coast to Florida then pass through Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee among other places, and end in Chicago.

ULTRA SUNN is already rescheduled across Europe, and will stop at the Orangerie, Botanique in Brussels, in their home town to celebrate the release of ‘US’, their long-awaited first full album.

Since their inception in 2009, Berlin via NYC & LA outfit Bestial Mouths have been creating some of the most powerful darkwave in the musical underground. Now guided primarily by frontwoman and co-founder Lynette Cerezo, whose vocals range from operatic, extended-technique furies to shouted monologues, the band are a medium for pure, intense emotion.

Bestial’s latest incarnation continues to channel new and experimental paths through the project’s original gothic post-punk roots. Dark music for dark hearts.

Miss FD is an underground dark electronic music artist, singer, songwriter, producer, and performer.

Her distinctive musical style blends darkwave, cyberpunk, industrial, and dark synthpop influences, complemented by her signature dynamic vocals which range from ethereal to empowering and edgy.

With a discography spanning multiple albums and collaborations, Miss FD’s most recent releases underscore her commitment to the dark electronic music scene. Her 2021 three-song EP “Adore”, followed by her single “Your Core”, showcase futuristic and cyberpunk elements. 2022 witnessed the release of her exploration of Gobekli Tepe in her three-song dark pop EP, “As Above, So Below”, followed by her cyberpunk single “Menticide” released the same year. Miss FD released her cyber-industrial single and cinematic music video for “Distractions” in 2023, followed by her most recent 2024 single release “Syndicated”.

Miss FD has also released several collaboration tracks with Vulture Culture: : “Ashes of Stars” in 2018, “Spitfire” in 2019, and “Faster Than Light” in 2020, and their latest dark EDM collaboration “Enough” released in 2024.

DJ / Drummer from Miami Florida, DJ Dino has been a staple in the South Florida music scene, and a proponent of all wave and dark electronic music since the mid 80s and into the more recent revival scene. Dino is behind the long-time running show SYNTHOLOGY 101 Radio, and has taken up residency at Miami’s dark underground party “Malicia Goth Nights”, making it one of the hottest monthly events in the South Florida Goth Scene. Here is where he serves his latest discoveries and the most cutting edge in goth, minimal synth, upperwave, post punk revival, darkwave, EBM, italo, and resurrected obscure coffin classics for the baby bats and darks alike. As a side note, Dino (formerly of Formula Redux) is the current drummer for Nutrix Recordings and Mannequin Records recording artist “Life In Sodom”, who were a big part of the golden age of Goth music in the 1990s, and have been actively releasing music since 1991.

’80s post-punk take note, Chameleons will be touring in 2024. This marks a reunion between The Chameleons frontman Mark Burgess and guitarist Reg Smithies, who had not toured together under Chameleons name in nearly two decades until 2023’s tour with The Mission UK. The band formed in Greater Manchester UK and is known as one of the genre’s greatest bands.

As bass player, singer and songwriter in iconic post-punk outfit The Chameleons, Mark Burgess can lay claim to having influenced a multitude of artists worldwide. Previously cited by the likes of Interpol, Editors and The National, The Chameleons might not have enjoyed the same levels of commercial success as some of their peers but the band’s legacy lives on.

Having formed in 1981 only to split in 1987 before briefly reforming in 2000, the Mancunian four-piece left behind a flawless back catalogue including three of the most pioneering long players of the post-punk era in Script Of The Bridge, What Does Anything Mean? Basically and Strange Times.

Identical twins Daniel and Danny Chavis originally hail from Raleigh/ Chapel Hill, North Carolina programmer Hayato Nakao, originally from Japan, hooked up with the Chavis brothers while living in New York. Along with Drummer Dale Miller, Micah Gaugh Keyboardist/Saxophone, Bassist Alex Cox and guitarist Martin Newman make up the current line up.

Lifting their band’s name from a Ray Bradbury science fiction story, their own life stories have also been quite fantastic. After signing to Capitol Records in 1989, The Veldt were soon in the studio with dream-gaze guru Robin Guthrie working on their initial recordings, playing American concert halls with Cocteau Twins and The Jesus and Mary Chain, and recording ‘Marigolds’ with Lincoln Fong (Moose). Not long after, they would record their classic ‘Afrodisiac’ (1994), produced by Ray Shulman (The Sundays, Bjork, Sugarcubes) and released via Mercury Records.

They have also collaborated with TV On The Radio, Mos Def and Lady Miss Kier (Deee-Lite), and shared the stage with The Pixies, Throwing Muses, Echo & The Bunnymen, Cocteau Twins, Manic Street Preachers, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Oasis, Chuck D, Living Colour, and Schooly D.

This past year has also been pretty monumental, with highlights including sold-out tours with Phantogram and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, a European tour, two separate Canadian tours, appearance at some of North America’s and Europe’s hottest psych fests, a spotlight feature on Time Warner Cable TV and being named as east coast support for Modern English. Performing since they were children, the Chavis brothers’ musical roots lead back to the church and southern juke-joints, and listening to music that included gospel, Motown and Pink Floyd. The Veldt formed in the late 80’s in Raleigh amongst the royalty of the legendary North Carolina music scene, including bands such as Superchunk, Archers of Loaf, The Connells, Dillon Fence, The dBs, Squirrel Nut Zippers, and Ryan Adams. Pitchfork recently included their album ‘Afrodisiac’ in the top 50 shoegaze albums ever released. Their sound also inspired future generations of alternative artists, including TV On the Radio.

This latest EP sees the band returning to their roots, albeit with plenty of distortion, programmed beats and pedal effects. They’ve also involved A.R.Kane, who produced ‘And It’s You’. Borrowing the title ‘The Shocking Fuzz of Your Electric Fur’ from an E.E. Cummings poem, this EP includes five tracks with a raging sound influenced equally by the emotional soul of Marvin Gaye, free jazz warriors Sun Ra and Pharaoh Sanders, various Drake hip-hop tracks, long-term musical kin Cocteau Twins, and their own fertile electric imagination.

Born from a tropical depression, Violet Silhouette is an American musical duo or group that may or may not sound like how dusk feels but with more reverb.
