Who are The Brothels???

The Brothels from Austin, Texas are a continuation of rock n roll punk/ ska band Avenue Rockers. Established in 2006, Ave Rockers toured the US, toured with Svetlanas, Dead Kennedys, Reagan Youth and played festivals including Upstart Fest, Punk Rock Bowling, etc. before a hiatus. Luna (vocals) sang for Reagan Youth for a couple of years before assembling The Brothels, they have one streaming album simply called “The EP”, which was released August 14th, 2024. This date would have also been the 3rd week into a 2 month US Tour directly supporting Dayglo Abortions, in which the tours “booking agent” never applied for Dayglo’s work visas, stole $6,000+ from promoters then disappeared. The Brothels gained much momentum, fans and viral notoriety worldwide for keeping the 2 month US tour going with no headliner, no money, no guarantees, just their new punk rock soundtrack for a broken summer tour and a hell of an underdog story. They are currently recording an album to be released next year, will be direct support for MDC’s 2024 winter tour kicking off NYE in Austin and looking forward to extensive touring for 2025- Listen to The Brothels “The EP” on any music streaming platform now!

Heroes Live Entertainment has joined community partners The Rhythm Foundation and Poplife to present Peter Hook & The Light with special guest DJ Arthur Baker on Saturday, June 14, 2025 @ Miami Beach Bandshell. Peter Hook & The Light will be performing ‘Get Ready’ live and in full plus a selection of Joy Division and New Order’s Greatest Hits.

As the legendary bassist of both bands, Peter Hook was instrumental in shaping the post-punk and new wave movements, co-founding Joy Division in the late ’70s and later transitioning into New Order after the tragic loss of Ian Curtis. With Joy Division, Hook helped craft the brooding, atmospheric sound that defined a generation, with classics like Love Will Tear Us Apart and Disorder. In the ’80s, New Order fused post-punk with electronic dance music, producing era-defining hits like Blue Monday and Bizarre Love Triangle.

Now, with The Light, Hook keeps this legacy alive, performing these groundbreaking songs with the raw energy and passion that made them timeless.

Arthur Baker is an American record producer and DJ best known for his work with hip hop artists like Afrika Bambaataa and Planet Patrol, as well as British group New Order. He is also known for remixing the Jill Jones song “Mia Bocca” on the 12″ single, taken from her self-titled debut album Jill Jones (1987), released on Prince’s Paisley Park Records, as well as remixing the Pet Shop Boys song, “In the Night”. His remix of the song was used as the main theme for the BBC TV programme The Clothes Show between 1986 and 1994. He also remixed the “Massive Jungle Mix” for Tina Turner’s UL top 40 single “Whatever You Want” (co-written by himself, Taylor Dayne and Fred Zarr). Pink Turns Blue is an influential post punk band from Berlin, Germany.

After their worldwide success with their album ‘Tainted’ and their often-sold-out club concerts in America and Europe, the post-punk legends from Berlin present a new studio album. The new album and the tour are titled “BLACK SWAN”, the term for an unexpected event, which in retrospect is justified as if one could have prepared for it.

Josh Scogin kickstarted his small band with the big sound in 2013, naming the two-man outfit he modestly undersells as “a little rock, a little blues, a little hardcore” after his father’s old Camaro. Austin is known as the music capital of the world — and Urban Heat is one of its greatest exports. Pity Party (Girls Club) is the moniker of American artist/ musician/ singer/ songwriter Julian Isaac A. The project was formed in 2014 in the Inland Empire region of Southern California when Juianwas just a sophomore in high school. Later that year the “Tired” EP was released and had much success on the internet. Following that came projects like “Healing Process” and “I’m Sorry I’m like this” which produced some of Pity Party (Girls Club)’s best work including hit songs “Yellow” and “I Hope You’re Doing Okay” . Growing in popularity fans impatiently waited for another album but didn’t get another one for about 4 years . In 2022 Pity Party (Girls Club) finally released his/their 3rd studio album titled “Hard Times/Bad Trips” with popular tracks like “I Hope That u Think of me” (which already has accumulated over 2 million streams on Spotify) and “Me and You”. Camp Blu emerged from Miami in late 2022, blending indie, surf, and post-punk influences with reverb-soaked guitars and punchy rhythms to create a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh. Formed by longtime friends Frank Ferrer (bass) and Angelo Ruiz (vocals and rhythm guitar), who’ve known each other since 5th grade, the duo bonded over their love for bands like MGMT and Interpol. Frogs Show Mercy is one part silly and one part serious. As you get to know the quartet, it’s impossible not to be charmed by the band members’ goofy antics, balanced by their profound dedication to musical growth. The band’s sound is an impressive blend of alternative, emo, math rock, postpunk, and shoegaze, with lyrics that touch on serious themes such as relationships, life, abandonment, and loneliness. However, the way the lyrics are delivered by vocalist and guitarist Yucky Poor, usually accompanied by a clever guitar melody, delivers the song’s message straight to the heart.

Vision Video is a post-punk goth rock band from Athens, Georgia that injects modern malaise into classic sounds of the late 70’s and 80’s. The band pays homage to classics like the Chameleons and The Cure, while also bringing a refreshing modern element to the genre.

Thematically their music explores the effects of trauma on the human psyche and finding stability and agency in an insane world. Having served in Afghanistan with the army and as a firefighter in the civilian world, lead singer and guitarist Dusty Gannon is no stranger to the darker proclivities of humanity and death itself. “I wanted to write music that helped people remember that it’s okay to not be okay, but that also doesn’t shy away from taking a stern look at the darker aspects of our flawed human existence.” says Gannon.

The band’s first two records were met with much critical praise, such as that from Pitchfork stating they created a “dreamy tune tailor-made for the sort of wallflower who sprints to the dancefloor the instant the DJ drops “Age of Consent” or “Primary” at Goth Night”. Their debut LP “Inked in Red” and second LP “Haunted Hours”, were recorded and mixed by Tom Ashton of The March Violets at his Sub Von Studios in Athens, Georgia.

Vision Video recorded their next LP “Modern Horror” at Maze Studios in Atlanta headed by Grammy award-winning producer Ben Allen.

DJ / Drummer from Miami Florida, DJ Dino has been a staple in the South Florida music scene, and a proponent of all wave and dark electronic music since the mid 80s and into the more recent revival scene. Dino is behind the long-time running show SYNTHOLOGY 101 Radio, and has taken up residency at Miami’s dark underground party “Malicia Goth Nights”, making it one of the hottest monthly events in the South Florida Goth Scene. Here is where he serves his latest discoveries and the most cutting edge in goth, minimal synth, upperwave, post punk revival, darkwave, EBM, italo, and resurrected obscure coffin classics for the baby bats and darks alike. As a side note, Dino (formerly of Formula Redux) is the current drummer for Nutrix Recordings and Mannequin Records recording artist “Life In Sodom”, who were a big part of the golden age of Goth music in the 1990s, and have been actively releasing music since 1991.
