Digable Planets burst onto the music scene in 1993 with their Grammy-winning single, “Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat).” Made up of Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler, Craig “Doodlebug” Irving, and Mary Ann “Ladybug Mecca” Vieira, the pioneering trio carved out a uniquely appealing style of jazz-informed hip hop. Their follow up Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time And Space), created what Pitchfork praised as “a world within a world, complete with its own language and monuments.” Melding jazz samples, and complex rhymes, theirs was a rich and vibrant artistic statement as well as a huge commercial success. 1994’s Blowout Comb has gone on to age beautifully, influencing future generations of hip hop heads, young jazz musicians, and Afrofuturists. Immortal Technique is a Peruvian born, Harlem raised activist and rapper best known for his complex lyricism, unfeigned humanitarianism, and highly intellectual nature. While incarcerated in his youth, he picked up the pen to unknowingly pioneer a new generation of artists and listeners alike; during his parole in the late nineties, he took battle rap by storm and dominated the world of Underground Hip Hop by being one of the first rappers in a freshly post-9/11 world to amplify the dark history of the United States in an era where most of Hip Hop’s own were waving around the countries flag in support of the war. Instead, he turned it upside down and used his message to take Hip Hop back to its politically charged roots, and as always, highly criticized those in power in his first album, Revolutionary Vol. 1, which went on to become one of the most pirated independent projects to date.

Best known for backing his raps with action, his humanitarianism reaches far and wide – from mentoring youth in prison, to building an orphanage in Afghanistan funded by his third album, The 3rd World, to helping to rebuild Haiti after 2010’s devastating earthquake, and handing out water and supplies at the border in Mexico, his life’s work is truly with the people. During the height of the pandemic in 2020, he started his own charity, The Rebel Army Runs to take care of the elders in his community and many others around the US. He’s worked directly with members of the original Black Panther Party, Political Prisoner and Activist Mumia Abu-Jamal, Dr. Cornel West, Harry Belafonte with the Sankofa Organization, Native American Activist Russell Means, has spoken at prestigious universities such as Harvard, Columbia, NYU and more, and has made appearances on CNN, Fox, RT, The Joe Rogan Experience, The Desus & Mero Show, MTV, Vice and BET to name a few.

Immortal Technique is currently working on his highly-anticipated fifth studio album, “The Middle Passage,” which delves into the untold chapters of slavery, global totalitarianism, terrorism, and corprate greed while also making room to discuss the global mental health crisis, with the main message that slavery isn’t just the past of humanity, it exists and thrives in present day, and now more than ever, we’re in danger repeating the past.

Cavity is primarily a sludge and doom metal band, originating from Miami, Florida, known for their heavy, abrasive sound influenced by hardcore punk, with some later work incorporating industrial elements. They are considered pioneers of the sludgecore genre, featuring downtuned riffs, powerful drumming, and a visceral, sometimes catchy, style. 

Cavity have announced their return. Originally formed in 1992, the band would have a 10 year run before taking a 13 year hiatus again reforming as Cavity A.D. in 2015. That version of the group would be in existence until 2020 before the band would once again go on hiatus.

The current line up is made up of the returning vocalist Rene Barge, bassist Dan Gorostiaga, and guitarist Ed Matus joined by guitarist Andrew McLees and drummer Davin Sosa.

“Named in reference to David Icke’s theory that the worlds’ elites are lizard people from another dimension, Prison Warder is Ana Farina Mackliff on bass, Lauren Palma on guitar, Bryan Adams on drums and Christopher Aschbrenner on vocals. With such a nod, it may be obvious, Prison Warder feels dangerous because it is as sardonic as it is smart. Prison Warder’s masterful drums are perhaps what hold it all together, guitar and bass that seem bellicose lend Prison Warder much of their unique sound. Screeching and dissonant, the music makes me think of getting headbutt right in the mouth, and liking it. Were Prison Warder a person, you might cross the street to avoid such a fate. Layered with vocals from pacing madman Aschbrenner, which are spoken or shouted or screamed, a transgressive but lovable sound is born. BURNING WITCHES, founded in 2015, are not just one of the hottest exports from Switzerland. Well no, the Swiss girls are one of the most interesting newcomers in Old School Heavy Metal in the past years… worldwide! The band already bewitched the scene press with their first single ‘Burning Witches’ (2016) and achieved the title “Demo of the month” in German Metal Hammer and Rock Hard. For sure, the powerful Heavy Metal, which also includes influences from Power and Speed as well as traditional Metal, thrills with a great songwriting from band founder Romana and vocalist Seraina and catches listeners with the punchy vocals from the singer, who is often compared with legendary Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST).

It’s not surprising that so much talent led to a spectacular self-titled debut album that was released in 2017, and the Swiss band didn’t only receive the attention of the traditional Heavy Metal audience but also from one of the scene heavy weights, Nuclear Blast Records, who quickly signed the band.

Back with their sixth studio album, Burning Witches released “Inquisition” in 2025 on Napalm Records.

HELLWITCH arose from the depths of HELL in October 1984. Formed by guitarist Patrick Ranieri and drummer/vocalist, Harry Tiyler. The project expanded into a full band set up in February of 1985 with the introduction of current PRECIPICE drummer Dave Silverthrash (Silverstein), replacing Tiyler, and Andy Adcock on bass/guitar. HELLWITCH shared the stage with such heavies as CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, G.B.H., CORONER, DARK ANGEL, KREATOR, DEICIDE, DEATH, MORBID ANGEL, ATHEIST, AGNOSTIC FRONT, D.R.I., ANTHRAX, NUCLEAR ASSAULT and many others.

October of 1989 brought about a contract with Wild Rags Rec. for the debut album ‘Syzygial Miscreancy’, recorded at the renown Morrisound Studios with veteran Thrash producer Scott Burns. In August of 1991 HELLWITCH entered Morrisound Studios once again to cut the three track EP ‘Terraasymmetry’ for Lethal Records.

2009 saw the release of their long awaited sophomore album ‘Omnipotent Convocation’. With the existing line up from 2005’s ‘Epitome of Disgrace’ promo. The second full length CD, ‘Omnipotent Convocation’ , came out in August 2009 on Xtreem Music. This album marked the second coming of HELLWITCH.

The release of the 30th Anniversary, 10-LP (!) box set on Germany’s IRON BONEHEAD Records, was another milestone for the band and has been selling briskly! Currently, the NEW HELLWITCH album, ANNIHILATIONAL INTERCENTION on Listenable Records, released on June 20, 2023 has been well received by fans and critics alike garnering no less than an 8/10 based on 40+ reviews! This new  aural expedition features 9 songs that create an incomprehensible meteoric maelstrom. In November of 2023 Jason Flippo joined the band as bass player bringing a blasphemous blast of murderous mayhem to our ranks. In our 41st year (2025) it is our time to kill the guilty, punish the innocent, and keep the blood pouring over the masses.

FAETHOM is a Blackened Heavy Metal band from South Florida known for delivering horror/sci-fi concept albums, blending elements of Black, Death, Thrash, Heavy Metal, and 70’s prog-rock since 2008. Their sound began developing in 1998 with Mariela Muerte and David Diacrono hailing from Cochabamba, Bolivia, while proudly adding elements of their culture into the music. British dance-rock quintet EMF formed in Cinderford, England in October 1989. All five original members were veterans of the local music scene before founding EMF, whose name supposedly stood for “Epsom Mad Funkers” (although it was widely speculated that the initials instead represented “Ecstasy Mother Fuckers”). Within two months of formation, the group played its first gig; after unearthing a Casio sampler and sequencer in a local thrift shop, a light techno element was added to their rock-oriented sound.

Their debut album, SCHUBERT DIP, was released in May 1991. It was certified platinum (over a million copies sold) in the US in September 1991. It had reached a peak chart position of #3 in the UK and #12 in the US, as well as finishing the year at #57 overall. By the end of 1991, their infectious debut single “Unbelievable” had conquered the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, hitting #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 in the UK. The single was certified gold (over 500,000 copies sold) in the US in May 1991. The song was in such heavy rotation for most of the year in America, that it finished as the #6 single overall for the year.

Further hit singles that succeeded “Unbelievable” included “I Believe,” “Children” and “Lies.”

In 1992, EMF returned with the Unexplained EP and the much darker full-length effort STIGMA; STIGMA peaked at #19 on the UK charts, and the band toured extensively to promote it. It produced hit singles and EMF live set favourites, “They’re Here” and “It’s You.”

The band released their final full-length album of new material in 1995 with CHA CHA CHA. After a successful European tour, they teamed up with comics Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer on a cover of the Monkees’ “I’m a Believer,” which reached number 2 on the UK charts.

EMF reunited in the summer of 2001 and released a Greatest Hits CD that coincided with a mini European festival and UK tour. The Greatest Hits CD, called THE BEST OF EMF: EPSOM MAD FUNKERS, featured 2 discs: the first had a collection of singles and fan favorite album tracks, along with 2 brand new tracks: “Incredible” and “Let’s Go.” The second disc had popular remixes.

The band were primed to write new material and tour more extensively but the sudden passing of bassist Zac Foley on January 2, 2002 shocked the band into silence. The remaining 4 original members spent several years focusing their time on personal projects and their families.

EMF reunited in 2007 and have been steadily doing festivals and live shows in the years since. In 2020, the band released a career-spanning vinyl box set and spent most of 2020 and 2021 celebrating 30 years of EMF.

The band surprised fans by telling them that profits from the recent merchandise sold was being used to record a new album, Go Go Sapiens was released in 2022. It was the first album of all new material since 1995 and received both fan and critical acclaim.

2024 has seen the band embark on 12 night sell out UK tour, release another brand new Studio album, The Chaos and the Beauty and announce their first USA shows in over 25 years…

Flight by Nothing was formed outside of Dallas in 2016 by Conner (vocals), Huey (keys), Pacco (lead guitar), Sam (drums), and Porfii (bass). ‘Arctic Moon’ is the first full-length album by Chameleons since 2001, marking the return of one of the most influential bands of the 80’s and 90’s.

Long cited as a hugely influential act, having inspired the likes of (The) Verve, Oasis, Interpol, The Killers, Editors and White Lies, Chameleons are renowned for their transformative catalogue and intense, emotionally charged live performances, creating a legacy that extends far beyond their four studio albums to date. 2024 saw the release of two EPs that kicked off a new chapter for the band. ‘Where Are You?’ consisted of three new songs, while ‘Tomorrow Remember Yesterday’ featured five re-recorded archive tracks. ‘Arctic Moon’ sees them propelling forward musically while retaining the essence that originally made them iconic.

‘Arctic Moon’ is the first full-length album by Chameleons since the release of ‘Why Call It Anything?’ in 2001. “There is an obvious maturity to the songwriting on this record, and anyone familiar with our past work will hear that this is a positive step forward. Identical twins Daniel and Danny Chavis originally hail from Raleigh/ Chapel Hill, North Carolina programmer Hayato Nakao, originally from Japan, hooked up with the Chavis brothers while living in New York. Along with Drummer Dale Miller, Micah Gaugh Keyboardist/Saxophone, Bassist Alex Cox and guitarist Martin Newman make up the current line up.

Lifting their band’s name from a Ray Bradbury science fiction story, their own life stories have also been quite fantastic. After signing to Capitol Records in 1989, The Veldt were soon in the studio with dream-gaze guru Robin Guthrie working on their initial recordings, playing American concert halls with Cocteau Twins and The Jesus and Mary Chain, and recording ‘Marigolds’ with Lincoln Fong (Moose). Not long after, they would record their classic ‘Afrodisiac’ (1994), produced by Ray Shulman (The Sundays, Bjork, Sugarcubes) and released via Mercury Records.

They have also collaborated with TV On The Radio, Mos Def and Lady Miss Kier (Deee-Lite), and shared the stage with The Pixies, Throwing Muses, Echo & The Bunnymen, Cocteau Twins, Manic Street Preachers, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Oasis, Chuck D, Living Colour, and Schooly D.

This past year has also been pretty monumental, with highlights including sold-out tours with Phantogram and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, a European tour, two separate Canadian tours, appearance at some of North America’s and Europe’s hottest psych fests, a spotlight feature on Time Warner Cable TV and being named as east coast support for Modern English. Performing since they were children, the Chavis brothers’ musical roots lead back to the church and southern juke-joints, and listening to music that included gospel, Motown and Pink Floyd. The Veldt formed in the late 80’s in Raleigh amongst the royalty of the legendary North Carolina music scene, including bands such as Superchunk, Archers of Loaf, The Connells, Dillon Fence, The dBs, Squirrel Nut Zippers, and Ryan Adams. Pitchfork recently included their album ‘Afrodisiac’ in the top 50 shoegaze albums ever released. Their sound also inspired future generations of alternative artists, including TV On the Radio.

This latest EP sees the band returning to their roots, albeit with plenty of distortion, programmed beats and pedal effects. They’ve also involved A.R.Kane, who produced ‘And It’s You’. Borrowing the title ‘The Shocking Fuzz of Your Electric Fur’ from an E.E. Cummings poem, this EP includes five tracks with a raging sound influenced equally by the emotional soul of Marvin Gaye, free jazz warriors Sun Ra and Pharaoh Sanders, various Drake hip-hop tracks, long-term musical kin Cocteau Twins, and their own fertile electric imagination.

Their widely acclaimed debut, ‘Script of the Bridge’ (1983) has been cited by many as a masterpiece way ahead of its time, and was followed by ‘What Does Anything Mean? Sidewalks and Skeletons is the solo-project of UK artist Jake Lee, who grew up in Bradford UK playing in many different bands as a deathcore guitarist, as well as gravitating towards creating dark electronic music starting in 2006 and making S&S his main solo project by 2011.

Jake created the name “Sidewalks and Skeletons” as a metaphor for the things that remain after death. “The earth you walked, and your bones: They are all that are left behind”.

Recently featured in the Devolver Digital video game “RUINER” – and movies such as “King Knight”, “M.F.A” and more – S&S has also worked with & played shows with bands such as HEALTH, Brothel, Crosses †††, CASHFORGOLD and many others.

S&S has headline toured all across the USA, EUROPE, and the UK, and has many more upcoming tour dates. His current USA headline Tour has had multiple fully sold out dates, and continues to grow.

Sidewalks and Skeletons’ latest album “EXORCISM” dropped worldwide on 2/2/22. The main single from this album was , which currently has over 7.6 million streams.

In 2023, and started their new shoegaze band , who debuted their first song “” in May, to critical acclaim. They are currently working on a full length album.
