BURNING WITCHES, founded in 2015, are not just one of the hottest exports from Switzerland. Well no, the Swiss girls are one of the most interesting newcomers in Old School Heavy Metal in the past years… worldwide! The band already bewitched the scene press with their first single ‘Burning Witches’ (2016) and achieved the title “Demo of the month” in German Metal Hammer and Rock Hard. For sure, the powerful Heavy Metal, which also includes influences from Power and Speed as well as traditional Metal, thrills with a great songwriting from band founder Romana and vocalist Seraina and catches listeners with the punchy vocals from the singer, who is often compared with legendary Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST).

It’s not surprising that so much talent led to a spectacular self-titled debut album that was released in 2017, and the Swiss band didn’t only receive the attention of the traditional Heavy Metal audience but also from one of the scene heavy weights, Nuclear Blast Records, who quickly signed the band.

Back with their sixth studio album, Burning Witches released “Inquisition” in 2025 on Napalm Records.

HELLWITCH arose from the depths of HELL in October 1984. Formed by guitarist Patrick Ranieri and drummer/vocalist, Harry Tiyler. The project expanded into a full band set up in February of 1985 with the introduction of current PRECIPICE drummer Dave Silverthrash (Silverstein), replacing Tiyler, and Andy Adcock on bass/guitar. HELLWITCH shared the stage with such heavies as CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, G.B.H., CORONER, DARK ANGEL, KREATOR, DEICIDE, DEATH, MORBID ANGEL, ATHEIST, AGNOSTIC FRONT, D.R.I., ANTHRAX, NUCLEAR ASSAULT and many others.

October of 1989 brought about a contract with Wild Rags Rec. for the debut album ‘Syzygial Miscreancy’, recorded at the renown Morrisound Studios with veteran Thrash producer Scott Burns. In August of 1991 HELLWITCH entered Morrisound Studios once again to cut the three track EP ‘Terraasymmetry’ for Lethal Records.

2009 saw the release of their long awaited sophomore album ‘Omnipotent Convocation’. With the existing line up from 2005’s ‘Epitome of Disgrace’ promo. The second full length CD, ‘Omnipotent Convocation’ , came out in August 2009 on Xtreem Music. This album marked the second coming of HELLWITCH.

The release of the 30th Anniversary, 10-LP (!) box set on Germany’s IRON BONEHEAD Records, was another milestone for the band and has been selling briskly! Currently, the NEW HELLWITCH album, ANNIHILATIONAL INTERCENTION on Listenable Records, released on June 20, 2023 has been well received by fans and critics alike garnering no less than an 8/10 based on 40+ reviews! This new  aural expedition features 9 songs that create an incomprehensible meteoric maelstrom. In November of 2023 Jason Flippo joined the band as bass player bringing a blasphemous blast of murderous mayhem to our ranks. In our 41st year (2025) it is our time to kill the guilty, punish the innocent, and keep the blood pouring over the masses.

The moment you hear it, you know it’s CROWBAR. Praised by Pitchfork, VICE, and Metal Hammer. Twice immortalized by MTV’s Beavis and Butt-Head. The group is worshipped by the heartbroken and downtrodden – those who exorcise their demons in smoke-covered riffs of mournful devastation. A genuine band’s band with a wide-ranging influence across multiple genres, Crowbar “helped draw up the sludge metal blueprints” (Kerrang!). Celebrating a recent 30th anniversary, Crowbar is led by one of the most beloved figures in heavy metal, riff overlord Kirk Windstein. His menacing bellow and smooth drawl put resilient, unrepentant strength behind even the most somber odes to suffering.

Crowbar is an American sludge metal band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1990. The band is fronted by vocalist/guitarist Kirk Windstein, Crowbar’s sole constant member. Infusing a slow, brooding doom metal sound with the aggression of hardcore punk, Crowbar, along with other bands in the New Orleans heavy metal scene, pioneered a style known as sludge metal, though Windstein himself has admitted a dislike for the term. The band has also covered songs from outside of their immediate genre; these include Gary Wright’s “Dream Weaver” on Equilibrium, Iron Maiden’s “Remember Tomorrow” on Odd Fellows Rest, and Led Zeppelin’s “No Quarter” on Crowbar.

Take As Needed For The Pain – #92 on the “Greatest Metal Albums of All Time” list

One of “America’s great live bands”

New Orleans’ EYEHATEGOD is the snarling, bilious sound of dead-end America. Since 1988, they’ve been a soundtrack for the troubled masses. Ugly music for ugly times. That’s the sense of disenchantment and disease that lies at the heart of their latest and sixth full-length album, A History of Nomadic Behavior. Anyone familiar with EHG’s story knows this is survivor’s music, a sound unto itself where Sabbathian riffs are meted out with caustic anger that goes beyond punk. That’s been the blueprint since guitarist Jimmy Bower (also of NOLA supergroup, Down) founded the band in 1988, with vocalist Michael IX Williams joining not long after. With a discography including sludge-punk mainstays like In the Name of Suffering (1990), Take as Needed for Pain (1993), Dopesick (1996), or 2014’s eponymously-titled LP, released in the US through Housecore Records, EHG laid the cracked foundation for their infamous and influential sound. A History of Nomadic Behavior finds the band, now slimmed to a four-piece rounded out by bassist Gary Mader and drummer Aaron Hill, leaner and meaner than ever; road-hardened by recent tours with Black Label Society, Corrosion of Conformity, and Napalm Death in the US and abroad. From the bitter pill of opener “Built Beneath the Lies” to the hypnotic haze of closer “Every Thing, Every Day,” it’s clear that EYEHATEGOD hasn’t slowed or mellowed with time. It’s quite the opposite. This is disorienting, uneasy listening. Music that still very much hurts.

Bleeth’s visceral post-metal sound is grounded in sludgy grime of heavy, driving riffs. The Miami-based Cuban-American band formed in 2015, and is composed of bassist Ryan Rivas, guitarist Lauren Palma, and drummer Hector Mojeno.

Bleeth’s first full length album Geomancer was released via Anti-Language Records (Los Angeles) on August 24, 2018.

Their 2nd full length harbinger marked a shift in a new direction—shorter and faster than past records, with particular emphasis on atypical tunings and arrangements. Bleeth signed with Seeing Red Records to release their sophomore album “Harbinger” in May 2021. SRR is a renowned independent label known for its dedication to heavy music. The album delves into themes of internal struggles with faith, societal structures, and the unknown future.

The success of “Harbinger” took Bleeth on multiple tours throughout the United States playing shows with the likes of Caveman Cult, Wrong, ASG, Weedeater, Capsule, Maggot Heart, Messa, Daikaiju, Portrayal of Guilt, Dead City Punx, Crowbar, Spirit Adrift, among others. Bleeth went back in the studio to record their forthcoming album “Marionette.” The album deals with fear of control, the self, and manipulation through injustice. The album represents the invisible double of the human, from a dual perspective: It’s an emotional and sonic journey that delves into duality—the tension between light and dark, freedom and oppression. The album is set to be released on May 29 in 2025.

Heroes Live Entertainment presents PIG (ex-KMFDM alumni) “Heroin for the Damned Tour” with special guests Unitcode:Machine and Wicked Playground on Friday, November 1, 2024 @ Respectable Street in West Palm Beach. First South Florida show since 2017!

7:00PM (Doors) | 8:00PM (Show) | 18+

PIG – the venerated project of head hog Raymond Watts & his herd of swine – returns in top form on Red Room. Watts & Co tease, taunt, tempt & tantalize with PIG’s singular blend of hook laden, genre bending, electronic tinged rock & roll, full of malevolent reverence, glitz, glamour, sleaze, sin & swing.

Guest appearances by Alexis Mincolla (3Teeth), Chris Hall (Stabbing Westward), and the PIG Choir: Chris Connelly (Revco, Ministry etc), Emily Kavanaugh (Night Club), I Ya Toyah, Marc Heal (Cubanate) and Burton C Bell (Fear Factory), En Esch, Susannah Doyle, Anita Kyoda, Mark Alan Griffiths, Mike Watts, Jimmy Livingstone, and more!

<PÎG> is Raymond Watts, a British musician whose brand of electronic rock is danceable and deadly serious in turn. Watts’s words spring from the well of gallows humour in a world of corruscating cruelty and truth. <PÎG> climbs peaks and mines troughs, and musical genres slide and collide like tectonic plates.

In 1986 Raymond Watts awoke in West Berlin. It was a time of terror and turmoil, in a city so depraved and decadent that the East Germans had walled it in. Watts had cut his teeth on tape loops in London and Hamburg, but inspired by Berlin’s fetid air and his first 8-bit sampler, Watts gave birth to <PÎG> in 1988, when <PÎG> was cut from his belly with a rusty screwdriver in a basement opposite The Wall. The first squeals were committed to tape, and saw the light of day as A Poke in the Eye. Wax Trax! jumped to release it.

A year earlier, in Hamburg, he was bludgeoning the first KMFDM album into shape with En Esch and Sascha Konietzko. He had also helped deliver the sonic slaughter of Einsturzende Neubauten, Psychic TV and most of the Berlin and Hamburg underground, as both live and studio sound engineer, and producer.

After writing the music for the second KMFDM album, Watts then slipped away to tour with Foetus, playing keyboards and guitar.

When The Wall collapsed, the party was over. Watts returned to London and <PÎG> albums poured forth: Praise the Lard, A Stroll in the Pork, Shit For Brains, Red Raw & Sore and The Swining. Watts programmed, produced and performed, ploughing a lone furrow until Karl Hyde, singer and sinner with Underworld, came to his assistance on guitars followed by Steve White.

Watts had also developed a taste for all things Japanese. His label was based there, his morals were parked there and <PÎG> had toured there many times. He was soon involved with a highly successful bunch of ne’er-do-wells called Schaft. Their album Switchblade, and a sold-out tour, followed.

In 1994, <PÎG> opened for NIN. This led to <PÎG>’s Sinsation album being released on Nothing Records — and then a return to Wax Trax! for Wrecked.

Watts also rejoined KMFDM in 1994, for the <PÎG> v KMFDM EP Sin, Sex & Salvation. On the ensuing album Nihil Watts resumed writing and vocal duties and several heaving tours followed, with Watts orchestrating the chaos from centre stage like a rampant ringmaster armed only with talent and tequila.

When not on tour, Watts could be found in his Ranch Apocalypse studios in London, working on <PÎG>’s No One Gets Out of Her Alive, Prime Evil, Disrupt Degrade & Devastate and the KMFDM albums Symbols, Attak and WW111. On the album Genuine American Monster, Watts reunited with legendary guitarist Guenter Schulz.

While in Toyko, Watts gave birth to the band Schwein with Sascha Konietzko and the Japanese musicians Sakurai and Imai. The albums Schweinstein, Son Of Schweinstein and a sold-out tour ensued.

After releasing the <PÎG> album Pigmartyr (Pigmata on Metropolis), Watts spent time in London indoctrinating his piglets and initiating them into the parish of the pork. When not leading his children down the path of righteousness, he could be found writing music for fashion and films for Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Marios Schwab, Halston, The Row and others. He also wrote music and did sound design for Punk: Chaos to Couture, the exhibition at the Met in New York.

In the final show before his death, Alexander McQueen commissioned Watts and John Gosling, Watts’s old partner-in-crime from Psychic TV days, to embellish the serene instrumental track Inside, from <PÎG>’s Genuine American Monster album. This became the soundtrack to what is seen as McQueen’s masterpiece, Plato’s Atlantis. This show was reprised as the finale of Savage Beauty, the McQueen retrospective that broke all records at the Met in New York and the V&A in London. He also wrote other original music and did sound design for the show.

Last year, in 2015, <PÎG> dipped his trotter in the trough once more, and released both the much lauded <PÎG> v Primitive Race EP Long in the Tooth, and the Compound Eye Sessions: <PÎG> v MC Lord of the Flies (aka Marc Heal, of Cubanate).

The Primitive Race collaboration brought together Watts and Mark Thwaite, of The Mission, Tricky and Peter Murphy fame, amongst many others. Together they set about writing what would become the main column of misery around which the new <PÎG> album, The Gospel, has been built. Watts’ newest partner in swine, Z. Marr of Combichrist fame, shared production and writing duties.

The new <PÎG> album, The Gospel, is a collection of twelve songs of ruin, redemption, resolution and resurrection. Across this tale of grime and punishment En Esch and Guenter Schulz leave their unmistakable trail of greasy fingerprints.

“It was a real honor and pleasure to work with Eric. He put his heart on soul into this album both musically and lyrically. He was willing to truly expose his inner demons and flaws and turn them into beautiful emotional lyrics that really moved me. this is not easy to do. and it’s scary as hell to put yourself out there in such a painfully honest way. In a world of fake social media perfection, it’s a shocking and wonderful thing to experience true humanity. New album “Eternal Return” out on Relapse represents a new era for the group, a chrysalis moment that takes them to new and unforeseen heights. Once again the band has joined forces with producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden) with vivid artwork by Arik Roper (Sleep, High on Fire). Equally informed by heavy, fuzzed-out psych along with the iconic grunge / alternative groups of the 90s, WINDHAND has crafted a record brilliant in scope, powerful in execution, and perfect for an era of increasingly blurry yet still heavy borders.

D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) is a crossover thrash band that formed in Houston in 1982. D.R.I. integrated their hardcore punk roots with thrash metal influences and were a stylistic catalyst for their contemporaries — Suicidal Tendencies, Corrosion of Conformity, S.O.D., the Cro-Mags, Nuclear Assault and Cryptic Slaughter — alongside whom they are considered to be one of the major pioneers of “crossover thrash”, having a heavy influence on modern thrash, particularly Scott Ian and his band Anthrax.
