New Orleans’ EYEHATEGOD is the snarling, bilious sound of dead-end America. Since 1988, they’ve been a soundtrack for the troubled masses. Ugly music for ugly times. That’s the sense of disenchantment and disease that lies at the heart of their latest and sixth full-length album, A History of Nomadic Behavior. Anyone familiar with EHG’s story knows this is survivor’s music, a sound unto itself where Sabbathian riffs are meted out with caustic anger that goes beyond punk. That’s been the blueprint since guitarist Jimmy Bower (also of NOLA supergroup, Down) founded the band in 1988, with vocalist Michael IX Williams joining not long after. With a discography including sludge-punk mainstays like In the Name of Suffering (1990), Take as Needed for Pain (1993), Dopesick (1996), or 2014’s eponymously-titled LP, released in the US through Housecore Records, EHG laid the cracked foundation for their infamous and influential sound. A History of Nomadic Behavior finds the band, now slimmed to a four-piece rounded out by bassist Gary Mader and drummer Aaron Hill, leaner and meaner than ever; road-hardened by recent tours with Black Label Society, Corrosion of Conformity, and Napalm Death in the US and abroad. From the bitter pill of opener “Built Beneath the Lies” to the hypnotic haze of closer “Every Thing, Every Day,” it’s clear that EYEHATEGOD hasn’t slowed or mellowed with time. It’s quite the opposite. This is disorienting, uneasy listening. Music that still very much hurts.

Founded in 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia, Whores has established themselves as one of the most successful and motivated bands in the genre today. Elements of Helmet, Melvins, and the Amphetamine Reptile roster can be heard throughout their catalog, but Whores are no regurgitated throwback act. Through intense, cathartic live performances and the perfected aggressive tenacity present on their recordings, the band has gained a fervent following sure to do nothing but grow in the years to come. October 28, 2016 saw the band’s first full-length album, “GOLD.” The album was widely praised, garnering spots in the top ten on album of the year lists through publications such as Rolling Stone, MetalSucks, Heavy Planet, Invisible Oranges, and more. The band is currently recording the follow-up to “GOLD.” Prior to the release of “GOLD.,” Whores’ output included two now-classic EPs. “RUINER.” released December 20, 2011, put the band on the noise rock map and is now on its fourth pressing. Digable Planets burst onto the music scene in 1993 with their Grammy-winning single, “Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat).” Made up of Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler, Craig “Doodlebug” Irving, and Mary Ann “Ladybug Mecca” Vieira, the pioneering trio carved out a uniquely appealing style of jazz-informed hip hop. Their follow up Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time And Space), created what Pitchfork praised as “a world within a world, complete with its own language and monuments.” Melding jazz samples, and complex rhymes, theirs was a rich and vibrant artistic statement as well as a huge commercial success. 1994’s Blowout Comb has gone on to age beautifully, influencing future generations of hip hop heads, young jazz musicians, and Afrofuturists. Cavity is primarily a sludge and doom metal band, originating from Miami, Florida, known for their heavy, abrasive sound influenced by hardcore punk, with some later work incorporating industrial elements. They are considered pioneers of the sludgecore genre, featuring downtuned riffs, powerful drumming, and a visceral, sometimes catchy, style. 

Cavity have announced their return. Originally formed in 1992, the band would have a 10 year run before taking a 13 year hiatus again reforming as Cavity A.D. in 2015. That version of the group would be in existence until 2020 before the band would once again go on hiatus.

The current line up is made up of the returning vocalist Rene Barge, bassist Dan Gorostiaga, and guitarist Ed Matus joined by guitarist Andrew McLees and drummer Davin Sosa.

Devalued is a Miami-based False Jazz trio that creates music that feels like the soundtrack to urban decay. Their unique sound combines elements of sludge, punk, grind and experimental noise, creating a frenzied and cacophonous blend that reflects the disintegrating beauty of the city. “Named in reference to David Icke’s theory that the worlds’ elites are lizard people from another dimension, Prison Warder is Ana Farina Mackliff on bass, Lauren Palma on guitar, Bryan Adams on drums and Christopher Aschbrenner on vocals. With such a nod, it may be obvious, Prison Warder feels dangerous because it is as sardonic as it is smart. Prison Warder’s masterful drums are perhaps what hold it all together, guitar and bass that seem bellicose lend Prison Warder much of their unique sound. Screeching and dissonant, the music makes me think of getting headbutt right in the mouth, and liking it. Were Prison Warder a person, you might cross the street to avoid such a fate. Layered with vocals from pacing madman Aschbrenner, which are spoken or shouted or screamed, a transgressive but lovable sound is born. L.U.S.T. (Lucid Ultra Seduction Technique) is an emerging electronic music duo from Miami, Florida. The duo consists of Roxy, mezzo-soprano known for her powerful and emotive vocal delivery. She is a self produced music artist for Indigovox since 2002 and has played alongside artists such as Fischerspooner, Shiny Toy Guns, Joy Electric and The Start.

Armando Doval is a music engineer/producer and runs Electric Halo Recordings Music Studio based out of Miami, FL. He is well recognized for his dedication to the electronic music scene. He has been in several bands in South Florida and has played alongside My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and The Genitorturers.

Heroes Live Entertainment has joined community partners The Rhythm Foundation and Poplife to present Peter Hook & The Light with special guest DJ Arthur Baker on Saturday, June 14, 2025 @ Miami Beach Bandshell. Peter Hook & The Light will be performing ‘Get Ready’ live and in full plus a selection of Joy Division and New Order’s Greatest Hits.

As the legendary bassist of both bands, Peter Hook was instrumental in shaping the post-punk and new wave movements, co-founding Joy Division in the late ’70s and later transitioning into New Order after the tragic loss of Ian Curtis. With Joy Division, Hook helped craft the brooding, atmospheric sound that defined a generation, with classics like Love Will Tear Us Apart and Disorder. In the ’80s, New Order fused post-punk with electronic dance music, producing era-defining hits like Blue Monday and Bizarre Love Triangle.

Now, with The Light, Hook keeps this legacy alive, performing these groundbreaking songs with the raw energy and passion that made them timeless.

Arthur Baker is an American record producer and DJ best known for his work with hip hop artists like Afrika Bambaataa and Planet Patrol, as well as British group New Order. He is also known for remixing the Jill Jones song “Mia Bocca” on the 12″ single, taken from her self-titled debut album Jill Jones (1987), released on Prince’s Paisley Park Records, as well as remixing the Pet Shop Boys song, “In the Night”. His remix of the song was used as the main theme for the BBC TV programme The Clothes Show between 1986 and 1994. He also remixed the “Massive Jungle Mix” for Tina Turner’s UL top 40 single “Whatever You Want” (co-written by himself, Taylor Dayne and Fred Zarr). Arthur Baker’s songs are represented by Downtown Music Publishing.

Pity Party (Girls Club) is the moniker of American artist/ musician/ singer/ songwriter Julian Isaac A. The project was formed in 2014 in the Inland Empire region of Southern California when Juianwas just a sophomore in high school. Later that year the “Tired” EP was released and had much success on the internet. Following that came projects like “Healing Process” and “I’m Sorry I’m like this” which produced some of Pity Party (Girls Club)’s best work including hit songs “Yellow” and “I Hope You’re Doing Okay” . Growing in popularity fans impatiently waited for another album but didn’t get another one for about 4 years . In 2022 Pity Party (Girls Club) finally released his/their 3rd studio album titled “Hard Times/Bad Trips” with popular tracks like “I Hope That u Think of me” (which already has accumulated over 2 million streams on Spotify) and “Me and You”. Pity Party (Girls Club) continues to progress and shape indie rock while keeping true to his/their simplistic yet creative approach towards music and arts.

Camp Blu emerged from Miami in late 2022, blending indie, surf, and post-punk influences with reverb-soaked guitars and punchy rhythms to create a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh. Their high-energy tracks are driven by melodic hooks and evocative vocals that swing between yearning and defiance—perfect for both the chaos of a live show and the introspection of a solo car ride.

Formed by longtime friends Frank Ferrer (bass) and Angelo Ruiz (vocals and rhythm guitar), who’ve known each other since 5th grade, the duo bonded over their love for bands like MGMT and Interpol. After playing with Daniel Cardona (lead guitar) at a local showcase, they connected over some drinks and shared experiences in Florida’s difficult-to-navigate music scene and a mutual desire to write music together. Frogs Show Mercy is one part silly and one part serious. As you get to know the quartet, it’s impossible not to be charmed by the band members’ goofy antics, balanced by their profound dedication to musical growth. The band’s sound is an impressive blend of alternative, emo, math rock, postpunk, and shoegaze, with lyrics that touch on serious themes such as relationships, life, abandonment, and loneliness. However, the way the lyrics are delivered by vocalist and guitarist Yucky Poor, usually accompanied by a clever guitar melody, delivers the song’s message straight to the heart.

Vision Video is a post-punk goth rock band from Athens, Georgia that injects modern malaise into classic sounds of the late 70’s and 80’s. The band pays homage to classics like the Chameleons and The Cure, while also bringing a refreshing modern element to the genre.

Thematically their music explores the effects of trauma on the human psyche and finding stability and agency in an insane world. Having served in Afghanistan with the army and as a firefighter in the civilian world, lead singer and guitarist Dusty Gannon is no stranger to the darker proclivities of humanity and death itself. “I wanted to write music that helped people remember that it’s okay to not be okay, but that also doesn’t shy away from taking a stern look at the darker aspects of our flawed human existence.” says Gannon.

The band’s first two records were met with much critical praise, such as that from Pitchfork stating they created a “dreamy tune tailor-made for the sort of wallflower who sprints to the dancefloor the instant the DJ drops “Age of Consent” or “Primary” at Goth Night”. Their debut LP “Inked in Red” and second LP “Haunted Hours”, were recorded and mixed by Tom Ashton of The March Violets at his Sub Von Studios in Athens, Georgia.

Vision Video recorded their next LP “Modern Horror” at Maze Studios in Atlanta headed by Grammy award-winning producer Ben Allen.

Hailing from the sunshine state, HADEE. is an Alt-Rock artist who has burned his way into the minds of all listeners who come across him. DJ / Drummer from Miami Florida, DJ Dino has been a staple in the South Florida music scene, and a proponent of all wave and dark electronic music since the mid 80s and into the more recent revival scene. Dino is behind the long-time running show SYNTHOLOGY 101 Radio, and has taken up residency at Miami’s dark underground party “Malicia Goth Nights”, making it one of the hottest monthly events in the South Florida Goth Scene. Here is where he serves his latest discoveries and the most cutting edge in goth, minimal synth, upperwave, post punk revival, darkwave, EBM, italo, and resurrected obscure coffin classics for the baby bats and darks alike. As a side note, Dino (formerly of Formula Redux) is the current drummer for Nutrix Recordings and Mannequin Records recording artist “Life In Sodom”, who were a big part of the golden age of Goth music in the 1990s, and have been actively releasing music since 1991.

MOON DESTROYS is the brainchild of Guitarist Juan Montoya (ex-Torche, MonstrO, Killer be Killed) and Drummer Evan Diprima (Gold Pyramid, ex-Royal Thunder). The band released their debut EP, ‘Maiden Voyage’ in 2020 via Brutal Panda Records, then took a brief hiatus. In 2024, Vocalist/Guitarist Charlie Suárez (MonstrO, Sunday Driver) joined the fold. Suárez previously graced the stage with Montoya in the Miami/Atlanta band, MonstrO.

Bringing heavy rock and psychedelia elements, the band is a powerhouse of seasoned musicians that draw influences from The Cure, Black Sabbath, and Pink Floyd. In the summer of 2024, the band self-recorded and produced their debut full-length record, expected to be released sometime in 2025.

Following a string of encounters too strange to be coincidence, Robbie Kingsley, Franco Solari, Dylan McCue, Andre Escobar, and Zach Levy came together to form The Hails. Despite first playing in an insular Miami high school music scene, the band officially formed at the University of Florida in Gainesville, turning the tattered carpeting and beer bottle-lined shelves of their shitty college house into a distinct, refined sound that is now synonymous with their name.

After graduation, the group made the pilgrimage back to their home of Miami, the city that directly influenced the sound of their early shimmering singles “Younger” and “Stay”, debut EP He Seems Upset (2020), and the subsequent Alive in Strange Ways (2021). Recent highlights of the road include holding court at festivals including WonderStruck, Okeechobee, and Playground, interspersed between sold-out shows across the state of Florida. The first half of 2022 also saw The Hails join WILLIS for West and East Coast dates.

Firing the starting pistol of their next chapter, The Hails released “Exonerate” in October 2022, ushering in a flood of editorial praise from Billboard, Consequence, EARMILK, and many others excited by the direction the Miami five-piece is headed in. The same weekend as the single’s release, The Hails took it to the stage of Miami’s infamous III Points Festival, winning the crowd’s energy over with a track that had only been out for 24 hours.

In 2023 The Hails plan to release singles building towards a forthcoming debut album, and will continue to build their touring history starting with a southeastern run of shows with The Happy Fits and The Beaches.

The REMYZ is a modern alternative rock band infused with funk, blues, and R&B. With a lineup comprising of Avery Davis, Oscar Familia, Justin Goldbot, Christian Martinez, and Christian Rolon, they are regarded as the most exciting band in Miami. Led by frontman Davis the compelling five-piece has built a formidable reputation playing at shows, concerts, festivals, house parties, malls, and bars all over the city. The bandmates have known each other since middle school but never became close until junior and senior years of high school when they started skipping jazz class together. Leaving during class the friends would go off to the auditorium where they would play on their own. Davis, a keyboardist, and singer, Martinez, a bassist, Goldbot a drummer, Rolon a guitarist, and Familia guitarist and backup singer. All members started out playing different instruments than the ones they currently play when they first started learning.

What the REMYZ have done is take the best elements of funk, RnB, and rock and make it their own creating a unique sound that fits their mold. After releasing 2 EPs, the REMYZ has gained a strong following in Miami. With building momentum, the REMYZ have brought their dynamic presence on tour from Florida to New York performing at multiple venues. Their most prominent performance was at the Miami Heat’s halftime show. The band has achieved other accolades during their stint as a musical group together. The band was awarded “2017 Band Of The Year” by the SSA Songwriters Showcase Association. Declared winners of the Hard Rock Rising Stars “2017 Battle Of The Bands” Miami. And champions of the Miami Heat & JBL Battle Of The Bands in 2019.

The disparate qualities of each musician’s styles are all what makes them great but where they shine as an act is onstage. The members’ talents individually and collectively come together when they perform live. Success for the band is very much a case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Seeing the REMYZ live and witnessing their chemistry is truly a spectacle. Their phenomenal cohesion is due to a large degree to the group having known each other and playing together for years since they were in high school. Having such trust in one another allows the band to flourish as a whole and to blend their talents seamlessly, sparking an outlet of creative experimentation all but unprecedented in the scene of Miami.
